Amendments to the Rotary Code of Policies, Article 42

Thank you for the policy-related feedback and recommendations brought forth by many Rotary Fellowships over the past few months, which helped direct the Global Networking Groups Committee’s discussion at their in-person January meeting. The RI Board of Directors approved a number of amendments to the Rotary Code of Polices, Article 42, which offer Rotary Fellowships greater flexibility in their activities, enhance recognition criteria for prospective Fellowships, and reemphasize the protection of youth. You will also notice simplification and improved flow throughout the Article.

Review all of the policy amendments and access the current Rotary Code of Policies.

Promotion
Per the Board’s request, the general secretary is updating training curricula and resources for current and incoming district and club leaders with an emphasis on Global Networking Groups’ direct support of Rotary’s strategic plan, including positioning Rotary Fellowships as important opportunities for member engagement.

Rotary Marks
Rotary Fellowships are reminded to review their visual identities and ensure compliance with Rotary Marks, Article 33 of the Rotary Code of Policies. Fellowships not in compliance with current policies will be contacted in the coming weeks with guidelines on updating their visual identities.

Dear Rotarians,

The 2017 RI Convention in Atlanta is fast approaching.  Most of you will be exhibiting in the House of Friendship and holding your annual meetings in conjunction with the convention. To maximize your experience, please review the following information.

DOWNLOAD THE MOBILE APP
Get up-to-date program information, plan your schedule, and connect with convention attendees using the Rotary Events app. Download the app for Apple or Android, or search for Rotary Events in the Apple, Android, Blackberry, or Amazon app store.

HOUSE OF FRIENDSHIP

More than 55 Global Networking Groups (RAGs/Fellowships) will be exhibiting in the Convention’s House of Friendship.  You may pick up your exhibitor badges and wrist bands by visiting the Registration Hall between buildings A and B of the Georgia World Congress Center.

Please note: your booths are located near the entrances and exits to the general session hall. Anticipate a high volume of traffic, especially before and after the general sessions, and make arrangements to properly staff your booths during peak time. Please familiarize yourself with the convention schedule to anticipate exhibit hall traffic.

If you require additional chairs or have questions about your booth, visit the Freeman Exhibitor Services counters located outside of the House of Friendship in the AB Connector concourse.

TRANSPORTATION AND VENUE
Find information on public transportation, parking, and directions.

Purchase a daily parking permit online: If you buy the permit at least one day in advance, you’ll pay just $10 — a savings of $5.

ROTARY INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION
Refer to the mobile app or visit riconvention.org to learn more about general session speakers, planned entertainment, opportunities for fellowship and service in the House of Friendship, breakout sessions, and ticketed events.
